Instructions for submitting an electronic personal data inspection request

This page provides instructions on how to submit a personal data inspection request.

  1. Fill out the information request form and save it to your computer. If you fill out the form electronically, you do not need to sign it, as mobile verification replaces both identification and signature.
  2. Go to the Council of Tampere Region’s data protection request submission page. You can make a data protection request via this link. (The page is only in Finnish.)
  3. Enter your email address in the field provided. The information you have requested will be sent to you as an encrypted email to the address you have provided.
  4. Continue to authentication. Identify yourself electronically, either with a mobile certificate, an online banking ID or an identity card with a chip. After this, you will be forwarded to the send a message section. The email address you previously provided will automatically be marked as the sender.
  5. Next, a message template will open. Fill in the details as follows: check that the recipient is the Data Protection Officer > enter “Data request” in the subject line > attach to the message the information request form you filled in earlier in step 1. Make sure to enter the necessary identification and contact information on the form. In the electronic identification process, only your name will be provided to us.
  6. You will receive confirmation after your message has been sent successfully. Click the End button to close the session. If you used a public computer, for example, in a library, clear the computer’s cache.
